Pat Troiani, a former art teacher in Pennsylvania public schools for 15 years, retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1985. She taught watercolor painting to adults in her home studio while continuing her
career as a professional artist. Schools attended include Traphagen School of Design, New York City, NY; Millersville State University, Lancaster, PA; and the Maryland Institute, College of Art, in Baltimore, MD, where she earned a Master's of Fine Arts. In 2008, Pat moved to Solomons, MD, where she currently teaches watercolor workshops at the Southern Pines Senior Center in Lusby, and the Cox Art Center in Huntingtown.
One of Pat's favorite subject matter is painting florals using traditional watercolor techniques, but she also likes painting on "Yupo," a very slippery acid-free paper, and more recently, she has started painting in oils. Portraits of pets or people's homes may be commissioned by appointment. Some of Pat's awards include: North Carolina Senior Games; The Frank Stick Show, Outer Banks, NC; Beach Book Cover 2004; Land Mark Shows at the Pasquotank Art Association; Peoples' Choice Award at the Chowan Arts Council; The Mollie Fearing Show, Manteo, NC; Annual Spring Show, Annmarie Garden, Solomons, Md; Potomac River Show, Colonial Beach, MD; and the Calvert Artists' Guild Spring Show.
In addition to the Medical Center, Pat's paintings are on display at the Cox Art Center Huntingtown, MD; JarrettThor Fine Arts in Colonial Beach,VA; Island Gallery, Christmas Shop, Manteo, NC; and Cloud Nine in Nags Head, NC. Recently, Pat began creating jewelry which is shown at JarrettThor Fine Arts, and Artworks, 7th and the Bayside Museum in North Beach, MD.
